In case you didn’t know, Vieques is a small beautiful island about 10 miles off the eastern coast of Puerto Rico, it is also known as La Isla Nena. Today we will take a look at three beautiful beaches on the island of Vieques.

Caracas Beach

We will start at Caracas Beach or Red Beach, beautiful for its white sands and crystalline waters. The beach is shaped like a half-moon, very similar to Playa Mar Chiquita. Red Beach is ideal to have a great day with the whole family as the waters are calm and great for swimming. The beach is excellent for snorkeling and other water sports. Make sure to bring some snacks and something thing to drink.

Playa La Esperanza

Playa La Esperanza, located on the Malecón of Vieques, which is very visited by camping lovers. It has crystal clear waters and excellent for snorkeling, kayaking, swimming, and fishing. Just relax at this beach while watching the sailboats out in the distance and the fishermen making their catch of the day.

Playa Negra

You will not want to leave this beautiful island without visiting Playa Negra, the trail to the beach will take about 10-minute, the trail will take you through a patch of forest with beautiful landscapes in which you will encounter flora and fauna, at the end of the road you will be mesmerized by black the sands from Playa Negra. The black sand on this beach is due to the mineral called magnetite formed by volcanic eruptions.

At Playa Negra not only the black sand is your main attraction, the rocky cliffs, and turquoise waters will have you staring in awe. Playa Negra is one of the 20 black sand beaches in the world. It is indeed an exotic beach! Do not forget to take beautiful photos.
